Lightning Rock

This is the biggest rock in Lightningclan territory.

*flicks tail toward a large flat rock in the sun*

It is called Lightning Rock because many seasons ago, during a big storm, the rock was struck by a powerful bolt of lightning that started to burn the forest. The rock was the only thing in the area that survived.

Today, elders and warriors use the rock to sun themselves and catch the prey that lives under and around the rock.

*pads in and lays down on the rock in the sun*

*snores gently and you know I've fallen asleep*

*****time passes*****

*wakes up, yawns, and stretches, then looks around for some prey*

*sniffs out a plump water vole and pounces, killing it immediately*

*heads back to camp and catches a robin on the way*

*pads by, carrying three mice*

*scents a sparrow and sees it eating some seeds a few fox-lengths away*

*drops the mice and creeps up on the sparrow*

*the sparrow senses something is wrong and starts to fly away, letting out a warning call*

*I leap and miss by a whisker*

Mouse dung!

*picks up the mice again and leaves*

*pads in and lays down on the rocks, drowsing in the sun*

*spots a moorhen and creeps up behind it*

*pounces and kills the moorhen by breaking its neck*

*pads back to camp dragging my kill behind me*
